Project Case Study

Port of Columbus (Ohio)
International Airport Parking Garage

Upon inspecting the structural members at the Columbus Airport Parking Garage the Authority’s URS Greiner provided a bid package with different repair schemes to match the specific deterioration. Nathan Contracting was the successful low bidder.

Several of the haunches were weakened due to deterioration. Nathan Contracting strengthened the haunches using carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheet wraps and preformed carbon strips restoring the structure with its original design strength.

Nathan Contracting’s crews also provided epoxy injection for some of the haunches, partial depth repairs were completed and three haunches were completed with additional stirrups and beam jacketing.
