Brittany Apartments

The parking deck of the Brittany apartments located near Pittsburgh PA was in need of repairs. The existing construction was a flat deck that had no provision for drainage. The owner after a very unsuccessful prior project at another location consulted with Nathan Contracting to develop and specify a comprehensive repair procedure.
Nathan Contracting worked as a partner with the owners representative to investigate and recommend the proper repair procedure and repair materials. The decision was made to move the existing Asphalt surface and existing waterproofing, repair any deteriorated concrete and install a Permasphalt hot rubber asphalt system. This system was chosen over the urethane membranes because it enabled the asphalt paving surface to be sloped so that we could establishment a drainage system and it also provided a surface that was snow plow resistant.
